CE 310 - Civil Engineering Materials - Study of the materials used by civil engineers for the construction of the infrastructure. Topics include the properties of steel, aluminum, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, wood and composites.

CE 332 - Introduction to Transportation Engineering - Study of basic concepts needed for the design of transportation systems, with emphasis on highway design. Junior level required course for Civil Engineers.

CE 413 - Construction Methods - Study of construction management issues, including the construction process, estimating, project planning and cost control.

CE 490 - Construction Engineering - Study of construction engineering issues, including equipment capacity and selection, specifications, and inspection of the construction process.

CE 490b - Asphalt Pavement Design, Construction and Maintenance - Covers the basics of asphalt pavement design, construction and maintenance. The text for the class is the NCAT book, Hot Mix Asphalt Materials, Mixture Design and Construction, second edition. The course is offered in spring semesters. The basics of the Superpave mix design method for asphalt concrete are covered.

Subjects can include theoretical analysis of pavement structures, the development of statistically based quality control specifications, pavement maintenance and rehabilitation methods.
